How we work

A clear course from first question to long-term support.

Every engagement follows the same four stages. Each one ends with something concrete you can review, test, and keep, so you always know where the project stands.

The four stages

Survey. Chart. Build. Sustain.

  1. Survey

    Understand the terrain.

Before we propose anything, we learn the problem. We talk to the people who use and run the system, map the current processes and data, read the legacy code if there is some, and surface the technical, regulatory, and budget constraints that will shape the work.

    You get

    • Research findings
    • Current-state system map
    • Risks & constraints
    • Recommended scope
  2. Chart

    Design the system.

We design the target system and the route to it: architecture, data model, interfaces, and user experience. A clickable prototype lets real users try the design before any production code is written.

    You get

    • Architecture & decision records
    • Interactive prototype
    • Delivery plan & estimate
    • Security & accessibility approach
  3. Build

    Deliver in increments.

We build in short cycles and demo working software at the end of each one. Automated tests, code review, and continuous integration keep quality high as the system grows, and you can reprioritize as you learn.

    You get

    • Working software every cycle
    • Automated test suites
    • Delivery pipelines
    • Release notes & documentation
  4. Sustain

Run it, improve it, or hand it over.

After launch we monitor, support, and improve the system. When your team is ready to take it on, we hand over the code, infrastructure, documentation, and knowledge they need to run it with confidence.

    You get

    • Monitoring & alerting
    • Runbooks
    • Support & improvement plan
    • Structured handover

Working together

What working with us feels like.

  • 01

    One shared plan

A single backlog and roadmap you can see at any time. No hidden work, no surprises.

  • 02

    Regular demos

Working software shown on a steady cadence, not slide decks about software.

  • 03

    Direct access

Talk directly with the designers and engineers doing the work.

  • 04

    Honest status

Risks raised early, with options attached. Bad news never waits for the deadline.

Questions

Common questions.

Can you work alongside our existing team?

Yes. We can lead delivery end to end, or embed with your own engineers, designers, and product owners. Either way, the goal is a team that can run the system without us.

Can you take over an existing codebase?

Yes. We start with a technical assessment of the code, infrastructure, and documentation, then recommend whether to stabilize, refactor, or incrementally replace it, with the reasoning written down.

What technology do you use?

Whatever serves the system best over its whole life. That usually means proven, well-supported, widely used technology your team can hire for, rather than whatever is newest.

How do engagements usually start?

With a short discovery engagement. You come away with a clear scope, a realistic estimate, and a recommendation, and you’re free to take that plan to any team you like.

Do you build AI and large language model systems?

Yes. It’s one of our four practices. We evaluate, customize, and deploy language models, from retrieval over your documents to fine-tuned models running on your own hardware, and connect them to your systems with the same care as any other software. See AI & LLM engineering.

Do you provide support after launch?

Yes, from monitoring and maintenance to continued feature development. Or, if you’d rather own it, a structured handover to your team.

Have a system that needs building, or rebuilding?

Tell us what you’re working on. We’ll help you find the clearest way forward.
